Im thinking of buying a Mountain fit hood.Does any have any first hand experiece with them?? I need a new hood and really trying not to buy a new one and fill it full of vents. I have a turbo M8
Thanks

I bought one at the end of last least and filled it with some vents, so I didnt have a chance to actually use it/roll my sled with it, but from what ive seen they are flexible as HE11, I dont see it breaking easy or anytime soon. If your running a turbo though you want as many vents as you can get, so not wanting to fill it with vents might not be the best idea... Cover that thing till you can see holes through it in every direction! If you use their vents also it helps add some stiffness to the hood itself, your not actually sacrificing strength by drilling holes in it. Keep in mind the hood comes from the factory with not one hole it in, you cant use your stock headlights, intake, ect. So I definitely recommend at LEAST a headlight vent.

I bought one first roll over it cracked big time

After the third year I gave up on his promises of a hood. And I live in wa. and went to snow show better off to buy factory or used even if it cracks and you have to zip tie. Black hood with black zip ties can barely tell. Trust me on this one.

Just from flexing the hood in the garage I dont believe it cracked first roll at all. But I dont actually have personal experience expect form playing with it in my house.

If your willing to wait till the season starts ill happily post back after my first ride when I roll it down the mountain and into a tree (wouldnt be the first time)

I bought one for a ZR a couple years ago. The fit absolutely sucked. It would have taken quite a bit of trimming to make it fit halfa$$. I ended up selling it on ebay. I'll never buy one again.

I think I bought on in 05 so long ago I forgot used it on my bb 4yrs then on my 1000 for 5yrs many rolls many into trees only cracks by hood ties this hood is made to be abused

Had one on my old mtn max. Left in the trailer at Lander, drove up to Togwotee early in morning, shattered hood. I had rounded all sharp edges where my vents were placed in. All I can think of was the dry cold -30 that Wyoming offers in January and Feb. The sled looked like a front windshield after a roll over, just spider webbed. Not a fan of the lexan hoods.

I've been running them for the last 10+ years. I think they are great hoods. It does take some trimming to make them fit depending on what kind of sled you have. The price is great and they are very tough.

I should have said 1 season he had bad product and admitted this my hood busted, then he didn't have hoods for a few years and made me promises which never came true. We roll our sleds over sometimes to get them unstuck i'm not talking barrel rolls. I'm being honest in my review. Your product is only as good as the support and I got shet.

Heres an update on my hood.

Got it all mounted up and rode it a few times with no issues at all, haven't even rolled the sled or hit ANYTHING with the hood yet.

Today I was looking everything over and where the strap to hold the hood down attaches the hood basically disintegrated behind it and the cracking is already spreading, this hood is INCREDIBLY WEAK if its already broken I can only imagine whats going to happen once I actually roll the sled or hit something.

Looks like I've got a thrasher hood in my future… Near future…
