Alternator capacity and adding heated vest

Hello Everyone,
I have a question I am hoping someone can answer.
I am the new owner of a 2000 Polaris RMK 700.

I would like to add an accessory outlet to power a heated vest. Does the alternator on Polaris snowmobiles have enough extra power to power accessories like heated vests or pants?

Connecting this to my 12 V power circuit is easy enough, but there is no point in doing this if the alternator does not put out enough power.

Any body else do this or know the answer to this question?

A heated vest should be under 2 Amps so I think you will be okay.

To be safe run a fuse in the circuit for say ... 3 amps.
