Airbox removal on 800

Just trying to install a set of Boyesen Rad Valves to go with my SLP full pipe. I've got the airbox unhooked from the mouths of the throttle bodies. but I can't seem to get any further with the air box. It appears impossible to move it any further forward so I can get the throttle bodies off of the manifolds. Any hint's. Thanks, Jay.

You just have to show it who's the boss. Takes some force and abit of wiggle before it comes out.
If you want to remove it completley, you have to remove TB before the airbox will come out of chassie.

Thats what I figured. I can get the air box about a 1/2 inch away from the throttle bodies. Thats it. Looking at the air box, there is no way it is coming out the front. I'll pull the throttle bodies next. I just need enough room to get the reed blocks and stuffers out. Pipe is completely out. Also mulling over whether to use blue locktight or not on the SLP Y-pipe install. It came with allen bolts, so I had to pull the studs. Directions don't indicate otherwise. Overall the SLP pipe kit is well designed, and very thorough with fuel line reroute and heat taping etc.

I installed them with the airbox still in, slid it far as I could tewards the front of the sled haha

You should get it much farther out than that. You just have to grab it like a man:face-icon-small-ton
Neve applied locktite to those allen bolts on the Y-pipe. Never had them come loose.

I see what you mean by the picture. Only problem is the steering pole interfers with the removal unless I want to really force the issue.

You are able to sneak it past the steering collum also. Just have to wiggle it here and there, and she will come out.

Just got done installing a turbo on my sled. For the reeds you need to separate the throttle bodies from the motor, leaving them in the airbox. Then push them toward the front of the sled, them pull upward with some force, they will come free from the airbox and wiggle out. It is very tight though
