After market belts

Anyone running aftermarket belts and how are they holding up. I'm new to cat, Ive been on doo since 01 and I usually run either stock or Gates extreme belts. I'm thinking of trying one on my 14 hcr. I've had really good luck with them on my old sleds. I can get 3 gates belts for the cost of one doo belt. Cat belts are a little less than doo's but still more than double some aftermarket belts. A friend of mine tried one on his dragon and said after a couple rides he noticed it was tearing up his clutch. Has anyone tried them on their cat and what kind of results are you having with them. Any clutch wear? Is the polaris clutch just softer aluminum than the doo to get that kind of wear?

Thanks in advance!

I ran Carlisle belts on my m1000's

without any issue, but lately i've been getting new 046's for around $50 each on ebay.

Thanks for the info. Im not sure what the 046 belt is? Is that the carlisle or gates part #? Sorry Im new to all the cat numbers.

I know doo's clutches run a fair amount hotter than cats do but I was lucky to get 100 miles out of my ultimax xs belts on my xp. The gates and stock were averaging 4-500 each belt before they started pulling stringers. So I'm a little hesitant to get any more ultimax's.

Ive been running gates belts on my 13 cat for two years, other than changing to have a fresh one on, no issues, work great!

Thats what I was hoping to hear. Are you using the new gforce with the ribs on the top or the standard extreme belt?

for half the season last year i was running the dayco XTX belt, havent had any issues with it and i will continue to run it as they have a 1 year warranty. (where i get from its over the counter)

Did your RPM change compared to the 084?

rpm was the same if anything i would say the belt held the rpm better when it got hot and didnt drag it down like the 084 did.
im pleased with it and will run it on my new 14

ATVs use CV drive systems also.
i did some reading on thier forums and ended up going with gates c12 as my selection for my build.. no miles on it ,, heh motor not even in it yet ,, but i bought a c12 belt from gates.. use amazon .. can find em under 80 bucks

think i googled ,, carlise vs gates vs ect ect ect

Does Gates offer any kind of warranty? I know Dayco goes good for them up to a year.

What's the difference between the G-Force and G-Force C12 besides about $30?

I noticed that the dimensions for a Gates G-Force and Dayco XTX differ (0.3" circumference, 0.1" width). Does anyone have Cat's dimensions?

Gates has a 1 yr warranty from purchase date too. The C12 is a carbon chord belt. Should have less stretch than a Kevlar or nylon chord belt.

I've been running a Carlisle XS822 for the past couple seasons on my 13 M8 with a TEAM tied secondary no issues and way cheaper than that 084.
