I just rebuilt the top end on my sled and I've hit a sort of snag with adjusting the oil and throttle cables.
The shop manual says that if you adjust the throttle cable you need to reset the TPS and sync the oil cable too. It also says you need to adjust the oil cable every time you adjust the idle, which is kind of crazy, but not my point.
The manual also says to adjust the throttle cable so the cut in the slide is 1mm below the venturi bore. The problem is this leaves more slack in the flipper than I like.
My question is would making the throttle tighter so the slide comes up past the bore cause any trouble?
And when adjusting the oil cable you are supposed to put the cable in this spacer tool and pull the housing with 7.6 ft lbs of pressure. How am I supposed to judge what 7.6 ft lbs is? Is the oil pump supposed to engage and the exact same time as the carb slides.
Also is it really necessary to reset the TPS in this situation?
Thanks
