recently added electric start to my sled all the starting control side is present in the harness as most probably know but im not for certain how or if the connection is there to hook up the charging side.

Is there a 12v DC wire already available or is it as simple as adding a rectifier inline to any 12vAC wire and down to the battery?

Sorry I am unable to copy and paste the wiring schematic. It looks like there is a brown wire running from the voltage regulator to the stator.

I have not installed an e start on one of these, so don't quote me. But I think most of the stuff was in place. Once you installed the battery, starter and relay.I think everything was pretty much plug and play, ready to go.

I have a 700 switchback with e start and I will try to go outside later and take a look. I could probably snap a few pics for you.

Thanks that would be awesome if you could and yea I believe everything is there except 12VDC output, was not sure if I needed to add my own rectifier or a regulator that has such built in, as I look at replacement regulators they all say models without estart leading me to believe I need to find the correct rectifier or regulator to add to the sled, when my mom blew up here 700 we switch the electric start over to another sled and ran it but I do know the battery goes dead on occasion and I would lead to believe it because we never hooked up a charging circuit

I checked the voltage regulator. It is part # 4010794. It looks like all the 6,7,800's electric start and non all use the same one. If you need an replacement call Fowler distributor in MN. 800 843 1424 they have a aftermarket replacement for that part number.

On second glance. You should have a yellow and a brown wire running from the stator to the regulator. Brown appears to be stator/engine ground on the stator side. And chassis ground on the regulator side. Yellow is common wire with all of the lighting. Hope that helps.

double looking at your picture is that the rectifier there just left of the solenoid? looks like the black connector comes out of the harness and the red connector doubles up on the B+ side of the solenoid

That should just be the circuit breaker . The regulator/rectifier is located (at least on my sled) behind the left side kick panel. Right behind your secondary. Sorry, sick as a dog right now so my brain isn't completely engaged. If you have the 2 red wires for that circuit breaker. You should have a complete charging circuit.

No worries man craps going around if you get to feeling better and get out by your sled let me know if your regulator has 1 or 2 wires I haven't gotten into the majority of the swap yet but I do recall 2 red wires in the harness by the battery box so maybe there is already a 12VDC output present

kind of feel like i asked a dumb question now if i would have gone out and actually looked at my sled its pretty self explanatory

first two images are the regulator on my sled the black jumper was already installed for some reason

third picture is by the battery box on my sled running i have 13VAC at the female spade plug and if i remove the black jumper wire i just have some stray voltage so that much be the charger wire which runs through the breaker i would assume so you dont burn out your stator

last picture is my moms sled we parted out looks like that second regulator is the rectifier and all the wiring is there just need to add the needed parts to make it work and its plug and play

So dove into this a little bit the morning the electric start kit I bought off eBay was from a gen2 550 so stuff was a little different I didn't figure on needing all the wiring harness but I'm glad I did as I ended up getting a recitifier in the kit and plugged it in, holes are existing in the bulkhead to bolt it up and plugged it in using colors from my mom's sled as a guide, fired it up and I now have 10-11VDC at that connection by the battery box, I think I need to clean terminals a little bit but for the most part I think it's ready to rock
