a dumb question

i know this question will probably get alot of laughs and stuff but i have to ask. and remeber im young and am not up on all the newer machines. when did the polaris IQ chasies come out in 05? are they all IQ or only the ones that have the actuall letters IQ on the front them im looking at a 05 rmk 900 and someone told me to i should have a edge or a IQ chassie. And also since i am looking stupid who makes the xp and i have just started to get on snowest but whats with the xp and the pinecones any old threads that i could read on that on sorry if this is all been asked before but thanks for any info

The XP is the new sled from skidoo.
The whole pinecones thing was started when people found out how much the sled didn't weigh. The joke was if it hit a pinecone the sled would be destroyed.

Yes 05/06 for IQ, Yes Ollie is right on the XP but there are photos out there that Doo show it exploding into flames after hitting a pinecone! Just doo a search and enjoy the reading.

polaris had 2 chaises in 05 the gen 2 and the IQ.

Polaris did not have a gen 2 chassis in 05'. IIRC the last year for the gen 2 was 2000? Polaris had an edge chassis and an IQ chassis in the rmk line in 05'.

Yeah what byob said..... TRAVY is this is your first sled I would recommend getting an 05 800 edge polaris. The 05 900 was a good sled but it took a lot of work to get it there. If your new to sledding the edge sled will be a better safer start for ya. It is a proven tested design. Hope this helps...

Yeah what byob said..... TRAVY is this is your first sled I would recommend getting an 05 800 edge polaris. The 05 900 was a good sled but it took a lot of work to get it there. If you have a 98, as has been stated the 05 800 RMK would be a HUGE improvement and you will like the sled a lot more.
The 05 800 was completely dialed in. I don't think there were any problems with that sled at all. The 05 900 RMK had some big issues. They could be solved, but why throw money at a sled you has problems when you can get one with zero problems?

I personally would avoid the 05/06 700/900 RMK's (and I currently own a 08 700 RMK).
