Hey,, Sled heads!!! First off,,great site!!! There seems to be a real lack of battery efi info..My 96 580 efi runs great briefly and intermittantly...i've done all the grounds the battery is clean and tight, checked all the plugs and wires and even used dielectric grease on all...bat is new with 12.29 and charges at 14.4 while running clutching is good with new belts....what it does is run up to 8500 good a couple times then starts dropping off to 7000 or 6500 then sometimes back fires a couple times and climbs back up to 8500 again once or twice more...120 psi in both cyl...plug wires clipped and re fitted at both ends ...ugh....out of ideas...can you by pass the tss on the efi sleds?? cause when i try i get no throttle....but it does start and idle....

Yes, you can bypass the TSS on the '99 EFIs. I've done it on mine. So long ago I don't remember which wire it is. However, should be able to unplug the whole plug to test it. That should just disable the TSS and the kill switch. Should still run fine otherwise. Not sure why pulling that plug should affect your throttle. Hopefully, someone else is a better mechanic than I.

thank you for the reply but with the older efi battery type they have a closed loop wire system have to have a jumper which i have tried but leaves me with no throttle....ive tried just disconecting...wont light anything and no fuel pump no anything??? sure appreciate your help, though
