Found great snow up top, too deep for the old phazer, spent most of the day getting unstuck, still way better than not sledding at all!

did you go up by yourself? i thought you had to do a gnarly hillclimb to get into portal creek. hopefully i can get out this weekend i feel crappy though

I was with a friend who was riding an old Kawasaki LTD 440. No real hill climb to get to the area we were playing at, which was four or five miles from the summer parking lot which is approx. six miles from highway. The trail heads right through a couple of larger meadows up top. I know there is some very steep terrain up there, just haven't found it yet. Hope you get feeling better, being sick sucks.
