had to know something was up when they offered the 600 alpha es at a very nice price a few weeks ago...strange (to us) things happening for sure, many possible but unsubstantiated scenarios....the light of day will eventually be shined on this whole situation....some of these things can be explained quite innocently...but others have a shade of dread, the 600 certainly hasn't been a good seller, and therefore fits into a consolidation scenario....but if textron was thinking of trashing the snowmobile business, i don't think the alpha and upgraded c-tec2 engine would have been funded unless they wanted to reduce the sleds to something simple so as to make a sale to yamaha more feasible....or maybe just clean up the models offered so as to make room for the new stuff coming from their own design team next year, which scenario is the one that makes most sense to me...wish i had a crystal ball, sometimes...:face-icon-small-dis

You must be on the old site it’s not on the new one.

What’s so hard about having a descriptive website? Cat needs serious help in that department.

cat likes to surprise us later with the 600 for some reason. wait and see. hopefully they designed a new motor. used to be 20 hp. difference between 6 and 800, so 6s should be 140 horse by now.

They are focusing on helping dealers get clean on inventory. Models with high current dealers inventory are not going to be produced in 2020.

Exactly what they be doing. Not as much out west, but Midwest and eastern dealers are sitting in a ton of old inventory. The 2021 year should be good

So 2021 is out and still no 6000 Alpha, kind of crazy they would make the new 400 cc sleds to fill a gap, then create a gap with no 600 cc sleds???

Does anyone have any seat time on an Alpha One 600? That dang price point especially now with the end of season pricing, really has me looking at them again.

Yep, one of my riding buddies has one. Bought it for his daughter and it will actually out climb his 800 XM 154" x 2.5" at times. Feels similar to my 18 Alpha conversion only with a little less grunt of course.
My buddy's daughter has no trouble keeping up with the group (we're all on 800's) and gets around on it really good. If she's not riding that day, sometimes he'll take to Alpha 6 instead of his XM because it's so much fun to ride.

Thanks MNT_VIPER, I appreciate the update. A couple local dealers are blowing out their 2019 and 2020 left over Alphas and new sled with full warranties for under $9,000 is appealing. Then again, there's a 2019 800 Alpha 165 for under $10,000. I have got to believe the 800 is worth the extra $ but, it's a 2019 and has no electric start.
