Not a bad idea to customize the seat and bars to rider preference (of course, that's probably going to make it more difficult for you to hop on); that and some clutching are probably the best low-buck upgrades. Having geared my old 600 down for last season, it's a great upgrade and makes low-speed, on and off throttle riding more controllable. All you stand to lose are top speed and the cost. Being belt drive though, that's $650. Ultimately, "just ride it" is probably the best answer for now; shouldn't take long to figure out what upgrades (if any) are really desired.
