Primary on our 2018 800 broke in 2. There is about 1/4” of the crank shaft sticking out of the fixed sheave which is still tight on the taper. My thought is a three jaw pulled and heat to get it off ?

Mine did the same last year. Best advice I got was to drill and cut into quarters. Then I used a grinder with cutting wheel to cut slits on both sides of piece still on shaft. Then gently used a chisel to split it. Take your time. i tried everything including pullers and this ended up being the ticket.

Another option if you have access to one is using a Mini-Ductor. Heats up the outer section and combined with a puller might get it off as well with less grinding and possibility of damage.

My son got it off while i worked nights. Cut the sheave in pie shapes like the above photo to release it from the center. Then ground down the center until it came off on its own no damage just messy.
