Looks pretty nice. What area was this in? When we were there in February we went west from Granite Pass and over to Hunt Mountain. With only being about 5 feet deep we got stuck and had a great time. I thought the snow was some of the best I have ridden in over the years. It doesn't always have to be 7to 8 feet deep to have a good time

Road out of crystal creek parking lot. Couple pictures are from high country area, then over by the ranger station and about 5 miles up the trail on bald mountain side. Farthest we made it was to the warming hut.

17-28" forecasted by noaa for the southeast Big Horns over the next 36 hours? Anyone local have any insight on how these tend to pan out? Looking for one more decent ride to wrap up the season.

I might head that way over Easter. Depending on snow conditions and what the wife has to say about it.

The question is what was left of the base. I have seen a couple April storms like this and they usually turn out great for the Bighorns.

I'm going to try to do the hillcross at the ski hill on the south end on 4/27 if there's still snow. Other than that I'm done in the Big Horns.

Looking to ride BH this winter and bring the boys. Any input on where to stay would be appreciated. Usually, ride Wy range but shorter drive from WI would be great working around kids and school.

Arrowhead, Bear, and Elk are the 3 lodges around Burgess junction. I think all 3 are fine. Ive only stayed at Elk and its nice. If you’re riding the South side its probably just easiest to find somewhere on google in Buffalo with decent reviews. Trailer up daily.

I've stayed at arrowhead and bear lodge. Bear lodge is closer to the goods. They have the lodge with hotel style rooms and they also have town home style rentals. If your coming from the other side theres high country lodge. It's a ride in lodge. About 8 miles from the crystal creek parking lot or around 20 miles from the end of the road on bear lodge side. I've never stayed at high country but stop in and have lunch every time I'm riding the area. I've been riding out of the crystal creek lot for the last 4 years because I have a place to stay just down the pass so I haven't been to bear for awhile.

Any reports or is the bighorns closed for the season. Maybe Bernie made it a park so no recreational motor vehicles there.

I'm thinking that either it's so good nobody wants to share or nobody has been there. I have a trip planned for beginning of February guess I'll have to call and talk to lodges for information. Watching weather hasn't shown much precip there.

Just got done riding at bear lodge, rode west down trail H about 10 miles friday and was able to find untouched good snow but no base they had around 5" of fresh snow came down Thursday night. Saturday rode south through Willow Creek and found deeper stuff but still not a good base could feel stumps and rocks so just be cautious in open areas. I'd say average pow 2-3 feet with some spots deeper best snow we found was in the trees. Snows out there just have to find stuff that's not wind blow or tracked up.

Thanks for report. Can’t believe that resort owners/managers would rather look at empty rooms and bars than get on these forums and update future customers with a snow report once in awhile. Just blows me away.
