One of our riders was burning up plugs end of last season, so just brought it by for repairs. Compression showed 120/115. Not a total indicator, but you gotta start somewhere. 2126 miles, so I pulled the motor and tore it down. Mag side cyl looked good, but side play in piston was about a mile. PTO side another story. Piston hammered and signs of shrapnel on the crown. Piston actually had a lip around the crown from getting slammed into the cylinder wall. Cylinder badly scored, surprised it made 115 psi. Found it sucked a reed. 1 reed petal totally missing. Caused a lean burndown. New pistons, recon cylinder, new reeds, plug caps and wires, Repair all the cracks in the SLP pipe, and a handful of clutch parts. Think this one will live again.
