Hey guys,

I snow checked a new summit this year. Coming over from cat I'm new to the ski doo world. Just wondering if their are any "must have" parts that a guy should have?. Or any set up work that it will need?. I have heard the S mod brace kit is a good idea?

thanks

Quite a few do the Grip n Rip braces.

Skid plate is the only thing I did. Get the skinny one, wide is suppose to hold snow on it.

If you're fat, get heavier springs for skid.

Decide on skis after riding. Skis were the best thing for my fatass.

Less toys you put on, puts you that much closer to a new sled down the road.

The doo's are setup good to go from the factory. I would do some research on the gnr braces. I run them, however a few people think if you overbrace something, something else maybe more important and expensive will bend instead. I smoked a rock pretty good last year, flew of my sled and everything, to my suprise a-arms, s module, everything looked great and nothing was bent. So I personally think they are worth it.

Other than that, skinny skid plate is a good idea I think, and a aftermarket front bumper. Stock bumper is thin as tin foil, and will crinkle if you run into a tree at 1mph.

If your looking to drop some weight by getting a can, lot of people like hps.

doo blk QRS spring #417127137...
racewerx tower brace...
skid plate...wide for floatation, narrow for no extra floatation...
gearing and rest of clutching OK...
HPS or Dynoport can
pull limiter UP 1 hole...
8000 rpm +- 100
gas
oil
ride

There are only 2 must have upgrades --Bigger skis ( I prefer sly dog powder hounds 8" ) and Take a grinder to the carbide so the frond end is dead smooth and can not hook on rocks !!!!! the larger ski with the extra flex in the tip will and the smooth front edge on the carbide will take care of 75% of all front end damage issues. The second is a Dynamo Joe clutch kit , although the stocker is pretty close all around ride-ability is so much better with it , and it definitely gives you an edge everywhere. The rest is all wish list stuff

I did the GnR braces, gas can, skid plate and clutch cover bag. Other than that, I just put fuel in it and check the oil!

Run it, see what you think it needs. I am not a fan of adding 5 pounds with the GnRip, but I don't hit things. Two buddies here did them, they still twisted the crap (totaled) their sleds. But they hit stuff.

If you are shorter (less leverage) you will like the skinny stock skis, if you are taller you will want wider ones. I have ridden Mohawks, Grippers, and stock, and it is s tossup for me between Grippers and stock. Depends on the snow conditions.

shocks, graphics, narrow skid plate and rail stiffeners, you may need to add a bit of weight to the primary. Gas, oil, go time!

must have options

I dropped the bars 1 1/2 inches. Added a muff pot to a Bikeman Full Velocity can. went up one hole on the limiter. Unhooked the sway bay and added the Zbroz dual rate springs to the stock ski shocks. Only 10% break in left, LOL
