Hey I have a 2016 m8000 limited with the 3” powder claw and 7t drivers, wondering if anyone’s done the 21-49 gearing, or the 21-49 gearing after converting to 8t. Wondering how you liked it in the trees vs steep and deep. Thanks in advance

with 8t and a 3" the 20/50 works well. 21/49 is too tall for the clutch if you do a lot of climbing. lots of fun on flatters stuff tho.

I believe 21/49 is the gearing on some of the 7 tooth '17 models. double check the parts diagrams. they seem to rip good for 7 tooth. I wouldn't change gears if you do the 8s.

Keep the stock gearing and just cram the 8t drivers in there. I've done both the gear up and the bigger drivers separately. The drivers alone make a much better improvement.

proclimbs are 19/50 w 7t drivers. the newer ascenders run 19/50 w 8t drivers.

if you run 21/49 w 7t drivers on the proclimb the gearing is very close to the acenders.

3" lug, 19/50 7t @ 8k rpm = 60.45mph
3" lug, 19/50 8t @ 8k rpm = 69.09mph
3" lug, 21/49 7t @ 8k rpm = 68.18mph
