KELO gave out their snowfall predictions for this upcoming season. Their predictions is 166 inches for Lead/Deadwood area which is 22 inches below average. Last year Lead received 98 inches of snow. Keep in mind the 188 inch average includes snow received in September, October, and November which averages 47 inches. Most of the snow in those 3 months melts and very little contributes to a ride able base. We have seen maybe 6-8 inches so far this year which leaves the bulk of the 166 inches of snowfall yet to fall. KELO also predicted 8 inches above average for Rapid City which should result in a better snow season for the South half of the system.
