2013 vs 2015 M8000

I've been out of the game for a few years. Figure you guys can help me out here.

I'm looking at getting a new sled. What are the differences between these years? Pros and cons for either year?

Thanks in advance

Right now its between a '13 hcr 153, '14 limited 153, or '15 sno pro 162

13 hcrs were way to wide for my preference. I believe they had a 42" ski stance. The also don't have a painted tunnel which is a huge negative in my book

14 they moved the rear suspension to a better location,it'll have a 38" ski stance, painted the tunnel and you don't have to update the clutching.

The only difference between a 14 limited and a 15 sno pro will be the jackshaft and people claim the mapping is different but I can't tell when swapping beetween stockers.

Pre 15 they had a really weak jackshaft and I wouldn't ride one without updating it so if the price was right either the 14 or 15.

I've narrowed it down to either a 15 sno pro 162" or a 15 limited 153".

Dealer is asking $8000 for the 162 and $8500 for the 153

Becomes a track length and color preference at that point. In 2015 I think the only difference between them was the limited might have a tunnel bag and goggle warmer with it and electric start was an option with them.

Buy the 162 and then put on the '16 cat front end kit with the savings. I wouldn't ride an older pc without the new front end. It fundamentally changed the chassis.

I'm just not sure if i want that long of a track. I'm usually in the trees messing around, and i weigh 185lbs, i've never had a sled that long before.

153" as WAY more fun however, there typically is a time or two each year you may wish you had the longer track but, I have found those days are few and far between. The 153" with a 3' would be a hoot. Based on where you live, it sounds like you might be happy with a M8000 with a 141" and a 2.6"?

When i had my old M8 it was used around home occasionally, but very seldom. I have a sled for riding around here if needed. It's basically just used for the mountains.

What would you guys take between:
'14 limited 153 for $7800
'15 snopro 162 for $8000
'15 limited 153 for $8500

All have zero miles.

I'm bout 240lbs before gear and ride a 153" and wouldn't have it any other way, never seen enough difference to think I need a 162 and like frostbite said 153 is more fun. Dont think much changed between '14 and '15 so might be worth saving the $700 and going '14

If you plan to sell in a year or two the 15 might have a some edge there. But if you plan to keep for a while, I'd say the 14 and use the savings to upgrade the front-end.

I went back to a 153 track this year, after riding a 162 the last couple years. There are different things I like about each, but for now I like the slight more playfulness of a 153.

they changed the jack shaft and they also added venting on the 15. pre 15 jack shaft is garbage

from my understanding the '15 jackshaft is <$100 for the kit and the vent was just the one little ram snow scoop right above the clutch which I'm sure is also fairly cheap. So he would probably still be money ahead saving the $700 from not buying the '15 and doing the updates on the '14.

For the price, get the 15' 162. Do the cat trade for the stock ski to SLP moHawks and get the 16' front end.
If the 14' was significantly cheaper I'd say go that route with the skis and front end, but only $200 difference ain't worth it.

Those prices sound high to me for used sleds.
With the big rebates and incentives out there on new sleds right now, you could probably find a new one for close to the same $
