I'm pretty sure that the first year of the 900's they had a 144. Todd Oliver had one.

Buying a new toy for next year. Going from 01 800 MC LE. Sold it and shouldn't have. Some guys are still wanting as much for a 4yr old 8 or 900 ,with no or few aftermarket parts, as I can get ahold of a used M7 for. Probably be a bit more serious this summer of what I want.

Ya they made them, I ordered one (snowchecked) in BC. You don't see them cause we all went to longer tracks. Mine went to a 162x2.25x15 and love it, looking to go 16 wide for a little more flotation. Try and get a 151, you're only looking at putting 3.5 inches more on the ground than a 144. Just my too cents.
