I am looking at using a 2001 RMK 800 Non-VES engine for a project sled and have a quick question. I am looking to run premix and I was wondering what year Polaris blocked off the crank PTO bearing oil hole in the case? I have heard 2002 and up but I have also heard that 2001 had it blocked also. I would like to verify which year if possible so please drop me a line if you know. If not I may end up having to pull the engine apart to check just to be sure.

THANKS FOR YOU HELP!

I know my 03 800 had to be drilled, I ran 40:1 premix only, with a fully ported motor from carls cycle and rode the piss out of it for three years. I was running twin psi pipes, boysen reeds and ran redline oil, indy dan done his magic on the crank and line bored the cases also. I am not positive when they started not drilling the case from the factory though, I always assumed that all the big block 800's needed drilled though.

I am thinking I may just end up pulling the engine down just to check it over and double check on if the case is drilled or not.
