13 Cross shaft not turning

I took my impeller cover off and my cross shaft isnt turning. Has anyone had this happen or does anyone have any ide why it wouldnt be turning?

Need a little more info. Is it not turning when you pull the sled over?

There have been occasional reports of the brass gear stripping out.

Ok, I was riding and it overheated. Hauled it home checked everything out, didnt find any problem but it wouldnt circulate water. So i took the pump cover off and i can turn the impeller with my hand. and no when you turn the clutch it doesnt turn the impeller. That shaft has to be broken im thinking.
