08 XP cracked bulkhead... weld?

have an 08 XP with cracked bulkhead framework. had anyonr successfully welded/gusseted these?

That part is cast, good luck but I would replace it.

One of our Summits broke there also. I just put several structural rivets through it and its going on the 3rd year like that.

I mig welded it, good penetration and no boils. Got pistons out waiting for parts.

Personally I'd replace it or just ride it.
My one sled has been like that for over 6 years.
Also I've been told is casted parts don't weld well.

Replace. Weld ? Will just crack again.

I've welded cast aluminum quite a bit.
It usually cracks again.
Where that is and since its an 08 xp i'd just add a strip of aluminum and a couple cherry max rivets. Then run it.

Same thing happened to my '11. Replaced and ended up putting on Grip n Rip brackets for next time. The weld won't hold on cast.

Might wanna think about getting the brace kit from grip n rip. Did it last year and believe there is a bracket for right where it broke, might give it a better fighting chance.
