I'm working on a 05 rev 800 that is a wiring nightmare so I'm just going to order a used harness for it and go that route. My question is someone has deleted the tach form this machine, so if I buy a used tach and harness, all harness's should have the plug in for the tach right? Just because it is a highmark shouldn't make any difference on the harness should it?

Summit's only use one gauge pod, as opposed to MXZ's which have two. Your Summit harness will still have two separate plugs with the tach plug zip tied to the harness

Great news, so I should be able just to hook the tach up and it should work. Not sure how you would knowing your clutching without having a tach.

FYI:
You can also swap from 2005 to 06' & 07". From memory just might have to swap pin locations at harness plug end.

I run 2005 harnesses on my 06' & my 07" running single tach. / speedo guage.
