Question about removing the jackshaft.
I have the driven clutch off.
I have the 4 bolts behind the secondary removed.
I have the upper gear off the chain case side.
I see there is a back plate the 4 bolts attach the torque plate to. Seems like it should just pull or push through. What is the step I’m missing here?

What about that plate I removed the 4 bolts from on the back side of the torque plate?
Should I heat around the bearing?

yakima, wa.
There are few threads on this subject.
People use heat to remove the shaft from the bearings. Just remember the chain case is magnesium and flammable.
I used brute force and thought for sure i was gonna break my chain case ... lol

Circling back on this. There was a retainer clip I didn’t remove in the bearing housing on the torque plate. I put the 4 bolts back in that hold the bearing housing.
Then, I used a heat gun all around the outside of the bearing for about 2 minutes, not on the bearing. Then a block of wood and hammer to the chain case side of the shaft and it moved 1/2 way. It took 3 good hits on it. Gave it another minute of heat and 1 more whack and it moved out enough I could grab it and pull it out.
