Default Superclamp question

I just started using superclamp and wondered if the plastic safety key is necessary ?

Just tie a small piece of nylon string to the handle and the key. Then they are always there even if you replace it with a lock overnight.

I've got my key on a zip tie so I wont lose it,but if I did I would put a lock or a nut and bolt thru the hole.Probably overkill but I'd hate to lose a sled over a nut and bolt

A carabiner works well...will go that route if I ever lose one. A dog already used one of mine as a "chew toy"...still useable though...LOL

I'd hate to have one pop open for lack of a little effort to secure it...JMO
