In light of this recent thread I have a question.
https://www.snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=439857 I just removed my primary clutch for other unrelated work. In reading this recent thread, post #2 mentions that the OP's crankshaft line marking must align with a circle marking on the movable clutch sheave. My question is.... if my clutch was removed and then reinstalled (with no clutch dis-assembly), does it require being indexed to the crankshaft in some fashion? . Yes, it does. There are two circles on the movable sheave. One is small in diameter, one is larger in diameter. The larger of the two is for indexing with the crankshaft. Look close on at the crank stub; there should be a line on it, align that crank mark with the bigger circle on the movable sheave.

Thank you for that info.
As it turns out, I had noticed the larger circle as well as the PTO crank stub index line. I lined them up the best that I could. She is all back together now. Rick E. |
