Default black magic chip?

I just picked up a 99 zl 600. The previous Owner says it has a Black Magic Chip? Is it a re-flash? or where is the chip located?

Thanks

Probably an eprom chip in those, assuming it's efi it's in the ecu. It's the old version of a reflash that requires modifying the rom and burning it onto a chip.

Yep, ^what inspector01 said. To put it back to stock, you need the stock chip to put back in its place. At least that's how I remember the older 580s being. The chips are sensitive to static electricity to so don't touch them with your hands unless you touch a large metal object first.

He will need the chip to run the pipes or it will burn down.
