Yes I've used used the search function, but I still am looking for opinions. I've heard guys say they don't like the mtx weights. I've always had good luck with Polaris weights, so I'm running 10-62's in the stock sled and it pulls hard. Now that I put the pipe and can on, should I keep the springs the same, or go blue-pink primary and or black purple secondary, or other? I'm going to ride it tomorrow with stock clutching to see how it does, but you 8-10k guys with stage 2 experience please chime in.

Is anybody pulling 66 gram weights with SLP stage 2? I’m buying a used kit with AD Triple S clutch kit. The guy says it pulls awesome from 8-10k with whatever 66 gram weights come in their kit. I haven’t laid eyes in it yet, but that would be sweet to spin 66’s!

Stock vs stage 2?

I don't intend to hijack this thread. I've been looking very seriously at the stage 2 slp setup. I run from 5000-8500 feet. My stock setup right now is blue pink primary with mtx 68 gram base weights loaded in the tip to make 69.24 grams each. Steep and deep heavy snow I'm pulling 8300 and spinning right at 44 mph. After plenty of reading I don't know what to think. Maybe I'm better off just leaving it alone? BTW I am also running 9" rear wheels.

Do the slp pipe, you won't regret it.

blue pink primary, black purple secondary, get a 56/40 .36 helix, either mtx or stock weights to turn 8400....:face-icon-small-coo

Do this set up and add 2 grams to your primary, it will flat out ripp.

I dont know anything about that kit, but the stock springs and helix will pull 10-66's no problem at 8-10.
My 16 with the factory 3" and low gearing those sleds come with would pull 68-70's at 8-10k. It just depending on the snow. Some days 68's wasnt enough and it would be turning 8500, other days the 70's was too much and it would only turn 8100.

That pipe really like 8300-8400. The difference between 8100 and 8400 is like 4mph track speed.

I put a black/purple with the bearing in the secondary and have blue/pink in the primary to try with 10-64’s. Kl I need now is some seat time to see how it does.

I put a run on my setup a couple days ago. My belt deflection was a little tight, after 15-20 miles it started squeaking at idle. The sled pulled 83-8350 on most pulls, a couple were in the 81-82 range but those were up in the 10k foot elevation range. The sled seems markedly more responsive in the mid range than stock, but I’ve changed clutching, pipe, and gears since the last ride so I can’t say what mod helped the most, (my guess would be gearing) but the setup seems to work well. I’m going to back off the deflection a tad and run it tomorrow. One thing I did notice which was the same as stock, is that the motor doesn’t seem to pull any harder at 8400 than it does at 8200... it seems rather flat. What would help this? Helix? It just feels like it fails to keep pulling in the upper rpm range.
