I wondered the same thing. With the open tunnel design I wonder if you could get away without adding an extension.
Maybe get one of the aftermarket 165 bumpers that wrap around the top, then just fill in with the typical sheet aluminum.

I am going to see what it looks like with flap just strapped up. Off trail I could just get the rear flap remove kit. Bit I am worried about over heating on the trail. I will post some pictures of the 165 on the 154 chassis. When I get it installed.

I'd like to see it. I've been thinking of doing this as well. I would also put a strap on the flap and would likely trim the flap shorter as well.
Talk to van amberg tunnels, they build some good bumper/ tunnel extensions as a one piece unit for these. 1 (509) 225-6681

Stretching the G4
One of my riding buddies stretched his G4 165" to a T3 174" track last year. No tunnel modification other then a trimmed snowflap, didn't have any temp issues.

You’ll be fine! Google the BRP Lynx sleds over in Sweden they just came out with their sleds with a short tunnel and longer track right from the factory. It’s the same tunnel as the Skidoo 850 also. Some of them have a “snow flap” thing connected to the rear bogeys.

It will put the track paddles even with the back bumper. I stretched 165 to 174. Just trim the flap a little
