Just curious as people should have a few miles on them now if belt life is as good on the 18's as the 16's and 17's. I know they say it should be better but after riding Cats for 20 years and only getting 250-300 miles per belts I really have enjoyed the 6-700 miles per belt I have got on my 16.

312 miles on my '18, belt still looks to be in great shape :face-icon-small-coo my riding buddy has 1500 miles on his original '16 belt

My 14 M8000 had over 1800 miles on it before it blew and the only reason it did that is because we had to take a smooth flat road to get to the next spot and I pinned it knowing I should be close to changing the belt. I was right. One quick 70mph burst and kapow.... with just regular riding I could have got 2k out of it easy.
The terrain and the way I ride I couldnt even get a Cat clutch to last 2000 miles let alone a belt. Everyone rides differently and belt life is way different because of it. If you got 2000 miles on a 14 I'm sure you will get 4000 miles on a 16 and hopefully more on an 18.
I have never blown a belt on my 16 and they still have always looked good but after that many miles of hard mountain riding I rather be safe than sorry. RPM was starting to fluctuate on long deep powder pulls by a 100 RPM or so also. New belt and its 8150 rpm all day long no matter what the conditions are. I really think the new clutches on the 16 was the best improvement cat made that year even though the 3" track and new front spindles and stance made it a completely better sled. I hope I say the same thing next year on my 18 about the clutches too.

I've got 600 miles on my 18 and have not been easy miles by any means and belts still good
