My 2007 m8 runs great one week then the next it decides to rev really high at an idle then die.

The throttle safety switch has been disconnected.

My thought is the throttle position sensor. Has anyone else had this similar issue?

pulled plugs out let it sit for 30mins then put fresh plugs in and unpluged killed switch and started right up.
the plugs were brand new this season.

not completely positive if that was it.

Getting spark

Any help would be appreciated!

I realize I'm bumping an old thread, but did you ever solve the problem? I'm having somewhat similar issues with a new-to-me '07 M8, and am currently looking for more data points before I start taking the shotgun approach and replacing parts without being sure they're bad.

High idle is usually a lean condition caused by lack of fuel pressure, injector timing, or leaking seals or throttle body boots.
