I am thinking about gearing down my 08 600 rmk, to make it a little more snappy on low end. According to my supplemental operators manual it says I have 20/ 41 gears in it. But looking on babbits site and other polaris parts sites they offer a 19 tooth for the 600 and 20 tooth for the 700. And then only a 41 tooth sprocket. So that makes it seem like it has 19/ 41 gears in it. I see most people with the D8 are gearing down to 19/42 so I was thinking of doing the same. Is there a place you can order the 19/42 gears off of the internet and are those the ones I would need. Anyone else gear their 600 down?

Mine has 19-42 from dealer, works good. Not sure about how the 20-41 work. A lot depends on elevation, springs, jetting etc. I would talk to your dealer and see what they say.....could be a worn belt causing lack of snap on the bottom. How many miles?

600 gearing

My 07 600 came with 19/41 and worked well. I just went to 19/42 and it is awesome. My wifes 06 600 came with 20/41 and is quite doggy off the line, so I will be switching that soon. Hope this helps

I don't think the belt is the problem, or if I even have a problem. It has 900 miles on it but I know a lot of people on here have said they have changed to 19/42 and it seems like this is what everyone likes. So i thought I might as well do it too.

Well I got a chance to pop the cover off of the chain case today and it has 19/41 gears in it. But it looks like somebody has been in their before as there was some form a gasket on the o-ring at the bottom of the case. So I am going to get a 42 tooth bottom gear, I think. Is it going to make a noticeable difference?

Its going to give you more bottom end. I went from a 20/41 to a 20/42 and it made a huge difference. Didn't ride it with that setup much, ended up going with the 19/42. So I assume going from a 19/41 to a 19/42 is also going to make at least a noticeable difference. It doesn't take much in the gearing department to really effect things.

I'm running 18/43 in mine and I love it. For pure mountain riding and deep pow, it's the way to go. With this combo, you can use your stock chain.
My sled is an 07 600 155. Gearing it down will really help it.
