From what I hear 19/42 seems to be the most common gearing on the 06 RMK 900's, Where do they purchase the new gears? Because the gears are both changed one tooth in opposite directions then there shoudnt be a need for a longer/shorter chain correct? Any major insights I should know b4 switching the gearing?

Order it from anyone .... but make sure they have the gears in stock.

You can easily get $20% off retail most places today.

Ronnies is presently my favorite today (because they get it and ship it fast)since Babbitt's hosed me a couple times.

I use ATF fluid in the chaincase ... works great.

Do a general check on the gear area. Tensioner okay, cover not leaking.

There is a billet cover if you are concerned about your melting/leaking.
Did you get the recall install on your chaincase. Pretty sure there is a bracket to minimize leakage potential.

Here is a couple discussions.
