Why dosen't the visitor message system work anymore??

I have been trying to leave messages in the visitor message box when i was viewing some profiles but it don't work. is this somehow related to why it dont carry over the user name when trying to pm someone?

I asked about it a week ago and haven't heard anything back about it. Hopefully they get it fixed soon.
