In '07 the boots were updated to a thicker and more resilient rubber compound; they do hold up better. I believe the older boots get auto updated to those when ordering but not entirely certain. You can always just get the cheap Kimpex boots too and keep an eye on them: http://www.sled-parts.com/sledparts/sledparts_kimpex_boot.html Also tie up the carb rack with zip ties to the upper frame to help take off some load - seems to help.
