Governer bypass zr 120

So i know most people either do the zip tie, stiffer spring, or remove the gear, has anyone tried removing the linkage arm and running the throttle cable right to the carb bypassing the governer arm then leaving the gov arm doing what it wants?? It just wont turn down ths throttle??

Seems like this would be the best as you wouldnt be straining the gov gear by forcing it over with a stiffer spring or zip tie?

Is the gear still engaged if you remove the linkage rod?
