The handlebar heaters are definitely not as hot as those on my 14 XM. I checked them with my gloves off after riding for some time and they only get warm at the best. So far, I've been very impress with the sled just need to figure out this issue. Doe anyone have a wiring diagram or know how the circuit is laid out?
Thanks in advance for your help.

i was riding mine today in -5*F, and i thought the SAME thing as you did. i had 2 XM's and both the hand and thumb warmers were much better than those on this Gen4. The thumb warmer barely gets warm to the touch (without a glove on)

I'm pretty sure Ski Doo did that on purpose. Polaris has to have something better than Ski Doo. When it's time to head back to the truck I always try to let a guy on a Polaris ride my 850 so I can enjoy there smoking hot hand warmers :face-icon-small-win

The dealer can adjust max temp through BUDS

The hand and thumb can be adjusted independently through BUDS

Your dash switch will only adjust preset dealer settings

Your hands should burn with the temp on max setting

The dealer should make the adjustment for free

Dealer obligation to customers.

Definitely for free... especially if you paid delivery or setup fees...it's a warranty Item for sure.

I wouldn't be surprised if most dealers don't know much about this... or care to check it out.
And some that just don't want to do the work....but many will if given the chance and the info.

It's the kind of thing you should be able to have them do while you wait.

Thanks for your help! I assume this must be something new with the Gen 4 since my dealer didn't mention it when I discussed the issue with him last week.

2017 ski-do shop manual will tell your dealer how to do it.

Page 300

Section 05

Subsection 11

Connect BUDS2 and refer to COMMUNICATION TOOLS AND BUDS subsection

Navigate to settings page

Change heat ratio

Write the changes to the cluster

just because you can change the ratio does not suggest you can make them WARMER. that tells me you can adjust the temp ratio between the hand warmers and thumb warmer due to being on the same switch. can you confirm that you can actually make both of them WARMER than they came from the factory?

In BUDS2 go to the measurement page and find out what it is set at.

My understanding they were not set at factory to max setting.

I cannot confirm that information.

The dealer will be able to tell you what the ratio is set at also.

These hand warmer elements are hot and if yours aren't have it looked at.

Mine are also not hot. Took it to the dealer today and the found the setting to adjust the grip/thumb ratio but not how to turn the grips up.

Any additional details would be great.

Son and I did our first ride yesterday and the warmers were not very warm, however it was very cold. Stopped by the dealer and he said they just received a new update to the BUDS software and to bring in the sleds for an adjustment.

After reading the manual it looks like only the thumb lever/grip ratio is adjustable and not the amount of heat to the bars themselves.

A tech should be able to correct me if I'm wrong though as I don't own a buds2 to confirm the above.

Just curious if you took it in and were able to get the problem fixed? Mine are still lukewarm at best after the dealer visit.

Anyone else have any success?
