I know their has been some threads on here before but, I have a question for you guys. Can you build a monitor style shop in the mountains? What happens when the snow slides off the upper roof and lands on the lower roof? Will that cause damage to the lower roof or what. My son is looking at some property in the Blue Mtns, and the elevation is 4029 feet. Typically get 4 or 5 feet of snow. Any advice would be welcomed Thanks.......

I used to shovel snow off of roofs in sisters and quite a few were monitor style. There still standing today!! Back in the day they used to get 3-4 at a time on them so I am pretty sure you will be ok.. I would advise a tin roof with good insulation best investment on a home money can buy imho.
