I got a new primary spring to try and have never changed one on a cat before. Is it as easy as it looks, take out the bolts holding the cover and slip off the old and put in the new. Can I take out the bolts without using a compresser or do I need to hold the cover on so it dosn't strip the bolt holes?

it is that easy, no need for spring compressor just hold cover in with your hand, clutch is balanced so make sure the cover goes on the exact same way there should be a mark on the cover and one on the towers that need to be line up. good luck

Buy a "dummy clutch tool" for 50-55.00. It'll make your life VERY easy and pay for itself many times over.

I take all but 2 of the bolts out and rotate those bolts to the top. Hold my knee against the center of the cover undo the other 2 bolts, remove and replace spring, reinstall cover.
