This large slide in the Lionhead area near West Yellowstone broke 4-6' deep and deposited a large debris pile in the run-out zone. It's unclear if it failed naturally form a cornice fall or if it was snowmobile triggered. Either way, it's a clear reminder that large avalanches remain possible in the mountains near West Yellowstone.
