WHY is the hp of the 2010 800s such a secret? I believe they have THE FIX issue to deal with and also the EPA people, but every polaris dealer i talk to none know the hp. I would be happy if it was the same as last year. MANY dynos were reporting 154hp on a motor that had proper break in time . some magazines were saying 145 but the engines were not broke in at all. LETS all hope POLARIS has come out with a great fix ,and good enough to beat the 800 cat . MY 2 2009 s are getting update soon ,as iwill be tradeing them on 1 155 dragon 800 and 800 assault!!!!!!!! LETS HERE THE HP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HP

IF it was even close to the 800 cat polaris would be telling everyone, and the 154hp was a bit of a stretch

Honestly why does it matter?? Polaris puts the power to the track as well as any manufacturer.. An 800 is an 800 is an 800 in stock form.. Pick what brand you like and ride it like you stole it.. On any given day any brand can beat the other. The pilot has more to do with the power than any other factor. If a guy can really ride; than on a stock machine of the same cc's his machine is gonna out perform someone who cant ride..

I would rather know which manufacturer is going to go bankrupt first.

I could make an educated guess, but it would just pi$$ a bunch of people off.

I personally would like to hear your opinion

There are so many other factors involved that make the advertisement HP irreleavent. Personally, if Polaris delivers the same power with the HP we had last year and it is reliable then I would be very happy. Clutching and other mods would come later.

I said it before, I'll say it again: Advertising HP for the 800 is a "no-win" for Polaris. Too high and it's "B.S.", too low and it's "de-tuned". Seriously, there are guys out there who will think they got hosed if the dyno reads 152 instead of 154. I haven't ridden the new Cat, but based on everything else I've ridden, they are ALL about 10HP too high with their numbers. They must be measuring with metric horses or something......

polaris
utra=oppps = (Had a Ultra set up with SLP pipes that would still spank nearly anything coming off the showroom floor.)
2000 800 = f u = (My brother still has his and it runs strong)
2001-2005 800= crank boom = (Just got rid of my 03 last season and it was a monster)
2005-06 900=WAFJ = (Never had one and can't argue with this one at all)
2008+09 800=LMFAO = (Have an 08 now and love it)

I believe that setup is key and I am sure that everyone has a bad story to tell about every sled ever made but to say that all these sleds were no good is a little harsh.

Is it possible that your dealer is your problem, did all your sleds come from the same place?

So, how is the clutching on these 800s? If there is a way better than stock set-up, I want to know. My 600 Switchback was clutched really good from Polaris. Do the 800s have a good set-up from factory? I have an 800 RMK 144 on order.
