The shafts inserts on upper a arms that we take out of our existing front end to put in the the new zbros have way to small a diameter? Pics will be below.

The mounting tab on the lower A arm is way to big to fit onto shocks eyelet? Even with the colars off they still dont fit over the mounting tab.

I have only ever heard about good things about zbros but something is definitely off.

Order was definitely for a 08 mtx nytro I have receipt. I tried some shafts off 09 and 10 as well as as a pile of different shocks......nothing fits.

Thoughts?

You need to order the 2010 upper shafts they are a little bigger diameter. As for the shocks I am not sure.

What shocks are you running? I can tell you for sure, the new lower arms are designed to use the stock bushing and sleeve that comes on the floats. If you're running zbroz shock, I think you will have to put stock bushings in or zbroz offers an upgrade, but it will only work with their shocks. It sucks, because that style of eyelet in your picture is way better. Don't have a clue about the upper arm. I'd give them a call monday.

We tried stock shocks and a bunch of different floats..........i run floats gen 1 stock bushing set up, its way to small.

When you order a kit for 08 dont you think they should include the proper upper shafts?

Zbros

Your not the first to have problems with zbros lately . However like mentioned uppers I do recall them saying 2010 shaft. My shock valves and springs were way off but they did correct to a certain degree on there part!

I am surprised...

I like the Z Bros accesories, seem like quailty pieces, ....yet why do they send out componenets that don't match up?? Shock mount spacing on A Arms that don't fit factor OEM parts, bolt holes that don't fit the OEM bolts on their spindles???? The simple stuff that matters to a person when trying to bolt their components on is not on par with their quality of manufacture.

Good products that could be great. More attention to detail is required. IMO

Contacted zbros today and here is what I was told. Any 08 or 09 nytro will require the 2010 or newer pivot tubes. Approx 12$ each from yamaha. They mentioned they were going to make up new pivot tubes to put in with the kit but yamaha was "saying" they would not allow another company to reproduce a OEM part. I was told it is common knowledge and there is mention of this requirement on the website.........I have yet to find it.

Lastly they were unaware of problems with shocks fitting and the requirement of new bushings. They are looking into this issue and supposed to get back to me.

Apparently, its common knowledge of these problems and all dealers should be up to date and have necessary parts.

I still think its a great product but more R&D into all years and fitment would be expected.

So if you order this kit you will need 2010 upper a arm pivot tubes and bushings for shock mounting, not included in the kit.

Stupid question. Who actually runs stock shocks on a nytro? Everyone i know runs fox or exit. I agree piss poor R&D!

Having similar problem but switching from timbersled. I have to order all the bushings including the ski bushings its going to be a big bill for bushings. My fox floats fit without the bushing but very tight. Not that impressed. What's the deal on the shock bushings?

Thanks for starting this post. I find it interesting that, during the bashing of shinz last season for their tie rod issue, everyone that was saying that Z-bros kit was way better all failed to mention these small issues with the kit. I do realize that people with newer sleds would not have run into these small issues but i would be willing to bet some did and didnt say anything. I sounds like both kits could have used a little more R&D before they were released to the public.
its nice to finally get a better picture of the issues with the Z-bros kit. As a future customer of one of these kits i can now make a more informed decision on which one to buy.

I have a set of the new a arms in my garage now, I guess I'm gonna have to do a test fit to make sure everything works on my setup. But I do know that when I ordered mine, the zbroz website made it clear that I would need to use the pivot pins from a 2010 nytro and they even provided a p/n.

Spoke with Z bros today and asked them about the shocks. I have the floats with no spherical bearing in them. They told me to pull the metal bushing out and use the two poly bushings. Let me tell you the are tight. They are developing a bushing and sending it out to everyone who ordered a new kit I was told.

I called red deer yamaha today.......part number 2010
8HK-23373-00 47$ plus tax per pivot tube

On the parts list the do have 1 model mtx with a different part number
90387-10058-00 12.99$ they look exactly the same not sure what the difference is. These where all 2010 models

Every model of sled short and long track call for the 47$ tube except the one mtx version........anyone know if the cheaper one will actually fit? Again this was calling for the 2010 model not the earlier years

Zbros told me the replacement tube was the 8HK part and was guessing around 10$ per tube.

Thoughts? There has to be somewhere this part is cheap, anyone have input?
