For anyone who was planning on showing up and hasn't seen the club website (http://www.snojammers.org/) or Facebook page, the Fun Run that had been scheduled for Saturday has been postponed until next month.
Until this storm on Friday, there was only a trace of snow in the parking lot, and mostly gravel or ice for the first few miles of the trail. We needed at least 6 inches of new snow this last week, and while most lowland areas got anywhere from 2 to 8 inches of snow on Sunday/Monday, the Pyramid snow park only got about an inch or so.
So with very little snow out of the last storm, and (at least until yesterday) only 1/2 inch of new snow forecast for Friday, we decided to postpone the event until next month in hopes that we either get enough snow to run out of the normal parking lot, or the ice patches on the 70 road melt off and we can drive up to the upper gravel pit to park.
Here's to hoping that these next few storms drop a LOT of snow in the hills!
