Hey guys just wondering how a 2002 edge X 700 121x
2 is gonna do in the deep powder and what I could do to improve it without long tracking it? Thanks for the input!!

Some have mounted rear skid mount to below the tunnel but I had no problem just leaving as is but cranking up the springs on the shocks to raise the sled. Just be prepared to dig it out once you stick it, Edges were heavy.

I bought 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" HDPE plastic angles and bolted them to the track every 5", where there was no paddle. That added more paddle surface. I was using a 98 wedge 440 XCR that only weighed 440 lbs. That setup could handle a couple of feet of wet powder, but only if you kept the speed up. A 700 edge weighs about 500 lbs. A 500 lb short track is going to be more difficult to keep from getting stuck in powder. The short track allows the nose to come up because the track is digging a rut, so that you are always climbing a hill with the track, even on level terrain. Which is why you are going to get stuck a lot with a short track in powder.

And adding power doesn't help much. I run an 04 proxr 121x1.75" with a 910bb. I can get up to speed faster initially but once in the deep powder it just digs a trench and you are looking at the clouds. Longer track is the only true answer.
