Who is the snowmobile equivalent of the NRA, ie doing the most to keep an eye on legislation and lobby on our behalf?

I've really only heard of Save Our Sport because of their affiliation with slednecks, are they the ones to join is is there somebody else to support?

SAWS and Blue Ribbon Coalition are the best we have IMHO. It is sad to see that this question continues to be asked. Every Snowester should be a member of both along with being a club member in your state.

Just today, we were all asked to send a thank you to the senator from Oklahoma by SAWS. He has help slow down the stupid wilderness land grab. It is simple to get involved and sending an email with provided links and is as easy as it gets.

Sign up here: http://www.snowmobile-alliance.org then do something with the email notices you get.

Depends on your state but in Wyoming it is the local clubs, state association and ACSA who are the most active in advocating. BRC has been good with Yellowstone but they aren't really able to work "the ground" with the various land managers in the rest of the state like the clubs/associations do.
There are a lot of access issues out there that you probably never hear about because they often are dealt with while they are still molehills.

BRC and SAWS and Local

Very true on supporting your local clubs and state associations. This is your way of being part of the solution and to make the Grassroots efforts more effective.

There is a tiered strategy that has been working for the anti's for years now and their members or people of like mind are actually stepping up to the plate and making it work.

They support and JOIN a local group (your local snowmobile club), they support and JOIN a state association (in Mt. the Montana Snowmobile Association) and they JOIN a national organization (I recommend BRC) due to their mission statement and the involvement risk they are able to take. I also recommend SAWS as another association that brings our numbers together and brings the information to your screen about every big planning process in the Northwest and local issues that affect snowmobiling.

This strategy and implementation by the anti's is kicking our butts and the apathy of the actual users (snowmobilers) is catching up fast. It is time for all of us to realize that this land is our land and if we want to pass our heritage down for generations it is time to act.

From initial scoping processes to the legal battles, these groups cannot continue to be in the fight without all of our support. Financially and number wise thru our memberships.
