floorboard pegs

seen some pictures of somthing similar so i decided i'd give it a shot, reason being i want to be able to stand further back and i dont like the way the kit sits behind my heels. also wont mind the passenger ride out of the woods foot placement. I think i like the shape I have just going to narrow it a lot. whats everyones thoughts? im going to cut out every other rung to shave weight and clear snow, obviously they are adding weight, ill try to weigh them when i'm done

What happens when you snag it on something? I have been considering welding some extensions on my pegs but I'm scared of breaking something when I lay it over hard, or run my leg over with the pegs.

Unless ewer riding back east trails this is the stupidest design ever, They will drag in the snow every turn.Sorry but thats the scoop.

If you get down to adventure peg ish width why would the drag be any worse?

I do worry about the tunnel mounting though, might just make a wider and longer peg

I run wide pegs on my big dirt bike and stock width pegs on my snow donkey.

Drag is a small factor, but impacts with solid objects are the real issue. My feet get knocked off the pegs several times every ride, my tunnel sides are beat to hell, and my chaincase cover has been hammered back to usuable shape a handful of times.

I highly reccommend that you stick to footpegs and stout boots.

does the tunnel being right behind your heel bother you? it puts me further forward on the pegs than id rather be. also where does your chaincase cover take most of its hits?

Adventure pegs still fold.

Running boards hang up on everything.
(I tried them on a custom build)

They pogo stick the bike out of your hands when they hit something in mid sidehill. (Instant faceplant)

It’s painful.

You mean the chain case behind your heel?
Yes, I have my heel up on the chain case regularly, bit awkward at first, but you get used to it.
You must not have many hrs on a snowbike, yes your feet, pegs, chain case all encounter rocks and stumps under the snow. With regularity.
Most chain case hits are on the bottom portion, naturally. Trees don't grow upside down and rocks don't float...

I think you just need to extend and widen your pegs, and perhaps try Stegz pegs also. I love my setup.

35 bucks for works connection peg wideners that you weld onto your pegs. and then stegz pegs on the subframe that your boot can lean into and take the load off your arms.

looks like a nice setup, i like the peg additions. I'm going to put some more hours on the setup with a better seat so i'm not avoiding sitting so often. reality is the pegs arent killing me just annoying. my 18 seat is definitely worse its like sitting on a 2x4

yeah for sure see it through... the Steg Pegz really get me the leverage that I think you are looking for with the platforms. it's nice to cantilever your calves on the rubber stoppers on big climbs and pull your weight down on the rear of the seat while standing. Really takes a load off the arm pump also.

Ya try it out. I don’t hit my pegs or sides on hidden object so very often at all. Partly because maybe I’m not as aggressive, but also because my feeling is that if I break something in the back country, either on bike or myself, I’ll probably really have a hard time and require a lot of help that I’d rather avoid. I’ve hit some stuff, and nearly broke my foot on once on a hidden tree part. So in that instance I’d rather smash my bike up than my bones.

I ran the Zbroz Double Threats at the end of last season. Really happy with them and the ability to switch back to the shorter pegs for the dirt.

No, no packing/freezing at all. Now my stock pegs I was running on my Suzuki previously, yesh, those things sucked.
