So I wanted to revive this thread.

Seems like most are not doing anything but clickers for riding at Sea level. I need to trail ride with the wife and will need to ride it on our annual couples trip in the UP this year. I want it to work well and not have to take it easy and worry about bouncing off the rev limiter.

I bought the long solid pins from Doo (18.8 grams). Hoping that will work without buying ramps (that people say are not very good) and change the spring.

Don't want to buy a kit if I don't have to. Most say the stock clutching is pretty good.

Your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

You might be fine with those pins and all else stock, maybe gear it a bit taller. Adjustable pins would be my choice, then you can tweek the weight to get proper rpm on clicker 3-4 where it will work best and have adjustability either direction. Dalton makes a nice pin kit that goes from 14.5-21g for about $40.
