TRX-1 Exhaust Heat Shield?

TRX-1, '03, rear mount Bender. What's the secret for a TRX-1, rear exhaust from melting the plastic cover around it? I've wrapped the pipe under the cover and heat tape under side of the cover. Still getting too hot and melting edges of the cover.

Is there a heat shield of some sort for the cover?
