Default 02 Mountain Cat Bogging

One of my riding buddies is having a hell of a time with his sled. It has an intermitent bog when under a load. It will run great for a while and climb really well, but all of a sudden it will start to bog out. It will occasionally bog on the trail. Once it starts to bog it takes a while to clean up. He put a new fuel pump in it a couple of weeks ago and no help at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated, he's on a tight budget and time at the local dealer is a little rich for him right now. Thanks Guys

He's running EFI. My first thought was dirty injector or injectors, but wouldn't that be a constant ? It does seem to burn an excessive amount of fuel.

Power valve cables would be a good place to check. The outer plastic can melt and penetrate the cable and cause it to be sticky.
