I would like to know how many people, just for the 2010 M8, are expiencing a deep powder bog, or not, at the present time given how their machine is set up.

2010 m8 153 bone stock.
i get bog when its 4 feet of fresh and snow piles on the intake vents on the hood. have to use my left hand as a windshield wiper on those things otherwise it bogs and when it's that deep that is the last thing you need.

A long time ago a very experienced sled builder told me something I have never forgotten. You can waste a lot of time trying to eliminate a bog by focusing on just the engine management or just the clutching in any snow conditions. You can't seperate the two on a CVT vehicle.

Just something to think about if two of the same machines acts differently.

Question is has everyone who voted been in 4ft deep pow yet with their 2010. I'm sure not all have. Big difference with the bogging between 2ft and 4ft of fresh...

There aren't many sleds that won't bog when you have 4 feet of fresh coming over the hood almost completely blocking every source of air.....

Riding side by side all day long with a 2009 HCR and an 05 Edge 800 and neither were bogging like mine was. Wiping off the intakes as your pinned out can start to get difficult in certain situations... :face-icon-small-win

Man I keep telling everybody they need to mount some little mercedes headlight wipers on the hood over those side windshield vents and this whole bog issue will be history:face-icon-small-ton

I haven't had my 2010 in more than a foot and a half of powder yet so I am curious to see how it goes this winter. I ripped out my stock intake and put some prefilter over the horn hole which worked great in up to a foot and a half, but I don't forsee that working very well come Jan/February.

I had some awesome days last year, while I didn't have a tape measure I had many days over the windshield, like I said, I had it in 5 states, all powder states, I go where the snow is

no bog

Yes, I'm talkin deep powder, they type of stuff when you step off your sled you sink into it waist deep.

My ECU is suspected to be the problem and it is at the factory right now. We'll see what they come back with. I too rode with other sleds in the same conditions and they weren't having near the problem I was with bogging.

The sled has 800 or so miles and the plugs were very carboned up, even after a 8 mile trail ride back to the parking lot. The only sled I've owned that had worse carbon on plugs was my 92 Doo Plus 582, which was for sure jetted too rich.

My plugs get carboned up pretty good too. I've already fouled a set (was warm out). Same mileage as you.
